7 Signs Your Relationship is Thriving

BE WELL

Being in a healthy, loving relationship can be a source of joy and growth in one’s life. A good relationship should allow you to feel supported and connected to your partner while also encouraging independence and personal growth. If you’re wondering whether your relationship is thriving, I’m sharing a few signs you can look out for.

You Can Be Yourself

In a healthy relationship, you should feel free to express yourself and be true to who you are. Your partner should accept you for who you are, without trying to change or mold you into someone else. If you feel like you have to pretend or hide parts of yourself, that may be a sign that your relationship is not as healthy as it could be.

You Have Your Own Interests and Hobbies

It’s important to have your own interests and hobbies outside of your relationship. Your partner should support you in pursuing these interests and encourage you to have a life outside of your relationship. If you feel like you are sacrificing your own interests for the sake of your relationship, that may be a sign that your relationship is not as healthy as it could be.

You Communicate Openly and Honestly

In a healthy relationship, communication is key. You should be able to express your thoughts and feelings openly and honestly with your partner, and they should do the same with you. You should feel comfortable bringing up difficult topics and having discussions without fear of judgment or retaliation.

One fun way to open lines of communication is to play a conversation card game like Do Tell! I created this game to get people talking! It offers each player the opportunity to address subjects they may normally be hesitant to discuss and it encourages vulnerability; all things you need to maintain a thriving relationship.

You Have Boundaries

Healthy relationships involve setting boundaries and respecting each other’s boundaries. Your partner should respect your physical, emotional, and mental boundaries and vice versa. If you feel like your boundaries are being crossed or ignored, that may be a sign that your relationship is not as healthy as it could be.

You Have a Sense of Independence

In a healthy relationship, both partners should feel a sense of independence. You should be able to make decisions for yourself and have the freedom to pursue your own goals and dreams. Your partner should support you in this and not try to control or limit your independence.

You Trust Each Other

Trust is an essential component of a healthy relationship. You should feel confident that your partner is honest and faithful to you, and they should feel the same about you. If there is a lack of trust in your relationship, it could be time to explore why that might be the case and you might even want to seek professional help.

You Grow Together

A healthy relationship should be a source of growth and learning for both partners. You should feel like you are growing together and learning from each other. Your partner should encourage you to become the best version of yourself and support you in achieving your goals.

A healthy loving relationship should bring you joy and serve as a source of growth and support for both partners. If you recognize these signs in your relationship, then you’re on the right path. However, if you feel like your relationship is lacking in any of these areas, it may be worth having an open and honest conversation with your partner to address any issues and work towards a healthier relationship.

Remember, a healthy relationship requires effort and commitment from both partners!
